The Approach

We’re not looking for one symptom to blame. We’re looking for the pattern.

You are more than a lab result, a diagnosis, or a list of symptoms. I look at your health history, lifestyle, symptoms, and functional lab findings together to understand where your body may be asking for support.

That’s the difference between collecting more information and actually knowing what to do with it.

Earlier Matters

Catch the red flags
while they’re still yellow.

“I don’t feel like myself.”

Tired. Bloated. Waking at 3 a.m.
Digestion or waistline changes.

“My routine labs look normal.”

Normal routine findings can still leave questions about how you feel.

That space deserves curiosity.

The medical lens

Your licensed healthcare provider diagnoses and treats disease.

The functional lens

I consider symptoms, history, habits, and functional findings to look for patterns and healing opportunities.

The goal is not to medicalize every symptom. It is to stop automatically normalizing feeling worse.
Functional Testing

Test. Don’t guess.

Functional testing gives us additional data about systems that may be contributing to how you feel. But the test itself is never the whole story.

I interpret findings alongside your symptoms, health history, lifestyle, and the patterns we see across your results. The purpose is not to chase every marker or match every abnormality with a supplement. It is to identify meaningful healing opportunities and build a more informed plan.

The lab gives us data. Your story gives that data context.
The Functional Lab Index

Select a test to explore what it helps us investigate.

Hormones + Stress
DUTCH Complete

A deeper look at hormone and stress patterns.

DUTCH Complete gives us a detailed view of hormone and stress patterns, including how certain hormones are being produced and metabolized and how cortisol changes across the day.

We may look at
Estrogen and progesterone patterns · Testosterone and DHEA · Cortisol rhythm · Hormone metabolites · Additional metabolic markers

This can add useful context when we are looking at sleep, energy, stress response, body composition, and hormonal changes through midlife.

Digestion + Microbiome
GI-MAP

A closer look at the digestive ecosystem.

GI-MAP uses stool testing to give us insight into the gut microbiome, digestive function, immune activity, and organisms that may be contributing to digestive stress.

We may look at
Beneficial and opportunistic organisms · H. pylori · Parasites · Yeast · Digestive function · Inflammatory and immune markers

Constipation, bloating, gas, irregularity, food reactions, and discomfort can have several overlapping contributors. This testing gives us another window into what may be happening inside the gut.

Food + Chemical Reactivity
MRT

Less food guessing. More direction.

Mediator Release Testing evaluates reactivity patterns across a broad range of foods and food chemicals.

We may look at
Patterns of reactivity across the tested foods and food chemicals

When food reactivity appears to be part of the picture, testing can give us a more purposeful starting point instead of removing food after food indefinitely.

Minerals
HTMA

Minerals tell a story too.

Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis gives us a longer-view snapshot of mineral patterns and relationships.

We may look at
Mineral levels · Mineral ratios · Patterns related to stress response, energy, metabolism, and nutrient balance

Minerals participate in countless processes throughout the body. Their relationships can provide another piece of the larger functional picture.

Metabolic Function
Organic Acids Test

A metabolic snapshot from the inside.

Organic acids are byproducts of everyday metabolism. Testing them can provide insight into patterns involving energy production, nutrient needs, oxidative stress, and other metabolic pathways.

We may look at
Energy-production markers · Nutrient cofactor patterns · Oxidative stress · Neurotransmitter-related metabolites · Other metabolic patterns

When fatigue, brain fog, poor resilience, or stubborn metabolic concerns do not seem to have one obvious explanation, these findings can help us decide where to look more closely.

Gut Overgrowth
SIBO Breath Test

Sometimes digestion needs a more focused investigation.

A SIBO breath test measures gases produced in the digestive tract and may be considered when symptoms and history suggest that small intestinal bacterial overgrowth or intestinal methanogen overgrowth deserves further investigation.

This is not an automatic test for every client. It is used selectively when it can meaningfully add to the picture.

More testing is not always better. Better questions are.

The right test depends on the person in front of me. We use testing when it can meaningfully add information, not simply because another lab exists.

Data → Direction

A lab result is a clue.
What we do with it matters more.

that matter.
01

Prioritize.

What comes first?

02

Personalize.

What fits your life?

03

Observe.

How do you respond?

The Partnership

I investigate. I educate. I guide. You put it into practice.

This work is collaborative.

I bring the functional lens, lab interpretation, education, recommendations, support, and course correction.

You bring the willingness to participate, make thoughtful changes, and tell me what your body is showing us.

When something falls outside my scope, I refer you to the appropriate licensed healthcare professional.

You should leave this process knowing more about your body than when you started.
